Two Public Hearings: 3/25/20

Next Wednesday, March 25th, 2020, the Village Board will hold two public hearings in order to receive public comment on two proposed new laws.

The first proposed law is a temporary moratorium on special use permits and site plan review in the waterfront and mixed use waterfront zones. This will allow more time to complete the comprehensive plan update that is now underway. You can view the full text of this proposed law here.

In addition, the board will hear public comment on a second proposed law. The second law addresses regulation of standard short term rentals, or “AirBnB’s”. You can read the full text of that law here.

Recent measures taken by the state to limit the spread of COVID-19 include suspension of the open meetings law in NYS. We are working on specifics to be able to conduct this meeting remotely and allow public access via streaming. Bear with us, more information will follow…

For now, you can submit comments/questions regarding these two proposed laws via a new form on this site. The form can be accessed here and your comments will be sent directly to the Village Clerk’s office.

Thank you!
