Mayor Bradicich ordered playgrounds to reopen effective immediately. Though the protocols in effect elsewhere will be in effect for playground use.
To continue reducing the spread of Covid-19 in Athens, social distancing must be practiced when using the playground. In other words, stay at least six feet away from people you do not live with. In addition, a face covering or mask (over the nose and mouth) should be worn when it is not possible to maintain social distance.
The only exception to this rule is for people who reside together, families and roommates, for example.
As long as numbers stay low, we will continue to move towards “normal” in the Village.
