The Mayor has declared a snow emergency for the Village of Athens effective beginning 8pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Please take note of parking regulations quoted below.
The snow emergency parking regulations go into effect immediately and will remain in effect for 48 hours.
“The restrictions imposed by this declared emergency shall remain in effect for a minimum of 48 hours. Alternate side of the street parking shall be in effect for the duration of the emergency and shall commence at the time the declaration is made. On even-numbered days, parking is permitted only on the even-numbered side of the street. On odd-numbered days parking is only permitted on the odd-numbered side of the street. A restricted day starts at 8:00 a.m. and continues until 8:00 a.m. the following day. At 8:00 a.m. on each day of the emergency, vehicle owners must move their vehicles to the appropriate side of the street. If that day is odd-numbered, the vehicles should be moved to the odd-numbered side of the street at 8:00 a.m. If that day is even numbered, vehicles should be moved to the even side of the street at 8:00 a.m.”
