Conservation Advisory Council Meeting
September 17 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Athens has established a Conservation Advisory Council, the first in Greene County! The Council had its first meeting in August. It will take over the work of the former Tree Committee, help Athens become certified as a Climate Smart Community, and focus on other issues with environmental impact in the Village.
Council meetings are open to the public. At its next meeting on Thursday, September 17 at 6:30pm in the municipal building gym, the CAC will hear from experts on how Conservation Advisory Councils work elsewhere in New York State.
There are still two openings on the Council. Interested Village residents should contact Village Trustee and Council chairman Dr. Josh Lipsman for more information.
