Walk-A-Mile in My Shoes
August 30 @ 11:30 am - August 31 @ 7:30 am
The Hudson Valley Center for Veteran Reintegration’s (HVCVR) announces its first annual “Walk-A-Mile in My Shoes”- a 55 Mile Walk by local veterans.
This event will start on August 30 at 11:30 a.m. and conclude on August 31, 2020. The walk will begin at the HVCVR’s home base at Tech City located at 300 Enterprise Dr., in Kingston NY, and end at the New York State Capitol Building, located at State St. and Washington Ave. in Albany. That’s where critical legislation concerning our veterans is written, discussed, and ultimately passed or not.
Veterans participating will wear full-body fatigue and carry a rucksack symbolizing the weight our communities’ veterans carry daily. Our walk will last 18-20 hours without pause because the pressures of mental health conditions do not take breaks. Each continuous step and every minute that passes will signify the ongoing battles that Veterans face day-to-day.
We will walk through 12 towns/cities which include: Kingston, Lake Katrine and Saugerties. As well as Catskill, Athens, Coxsackie, Hannacroix, New Baltimore, Coeymans, Selkirk, Glenmont and Albany.

We ask for your support in whatever ways you can, whether that be by spreading the word of this endeavor in your social circles, meeting us as we pass through your town, or donating to the HVCVR in support of the work we do.
Thank you for your time and all that you do to support your constituents. We look forward to working alongside you as we support our veteran neighbors.
