Water Update 2

Repairs have been made to the broken water main and water is back up and running in the village. However, it may take time for full pressure to return. We anticipate all should be back to normal in a couple of hours. Thank you, we appreciate your patience.

The situation on Second St. has worsened and we’ve had a substantial water main break. In order to repair the break, we’ve had to shut down the system at the Dogwood tower. Just a quick note to update our residents and offer a big thank you to our Village DPW crew. They were on site from about 10pm on Tuesday night through about 4am on Wednesday morning and were able to repair the water main on N. Washington with minimal service disruption. Thanks for all you do!

The Village of Athens Department of Public Works will be performing hydrant flushing on Wednesday and Thursday this week, August 16th – 17th.
