Joint Town/Village Board Meeting Postponed

Hello Neighbors, The joint Town and Village of Athens Board meeting which had been scheduled for Wednesday, July 20th will be postponed until August. The new date is August 17th. The Boards will meet at 6:30pm at the AVFD (39 Third St., Athens). We apologize for any inconvenience.

Senior Citizen Award Nominations

The advisory council to the Greene County Department for the Aging is accepting nominations for the annual Greene County Senior Citizen Awards. The two awards presented are Senior Citizen of the Year and Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen. Click here for more information on eligibility and how to nominate someone.

Schedule Change: Planning Board

Hello Neighbors, Due to a scheduling issue, the October Planning Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 20th. Moving forward, meetings will return to the regular schedule. That is, the third Tuesday of each month. As usual, the meeting will take place at the Community Building, 2 First St. Thank you!

Emergency Hydrant Flushing: 8/23-8/25/21

Due to a water main break, the Village of Athens Department of Public Works will be performing emergency hydrant flushing from Monday, August 23rd through Wednesday, August 25th, 2021.
